Research on Cancer Metastasis

Students and a faculty member perform research in a lab

We offer student opportunities to learn molecular, in vitro, and in vivo biomedical research related to cancer and metastsis. We are trying to understand why cancer metastasizes and how to prevent it. We use bioluminescent and microCT in vivo imaging to monitor metastasis in mouse models of cancer. For in vivo bioluminescence we stably transduce firefly luciferase into cancer cells so we can visualize cancer movement in living animals.
