Detachment 650—the Bobcat Wing
Partnering with Ohio University since 1948, the Bobcat Wing produces high-quality officers for the United States Air Force. The Bobcat Wing provides many resources to help students succeed academically, physically, and mentally. The department prepares cadets for the challenges and vast opportunities awaiting them upon graduation.
“Through this program we build the character, perseverance and strength of cadets so they will live by Air Force Core Values—integrity, service before self, and excellence in all we do.”
-Lieutenant Colonel Brian A. Brown, Detachment 650 Commander
The Bobcat Battalion
Approved for Ohio University by the Department of the Army in September 1935, the department provides a robust training program considered one of the best in the nation. Members of the Bobcat Battalion are eligible for many educational and financial benefits.
"Individuals want to accomplish three things in their lives: belong to a family, have a successful life, and be happy. You can see it in the face of these cadets; we already have all three.”
-Cadet Austin Wyant
