Joining the Dean of Students team in 2023, Mak Olaker serves as the Assistant Dean of Students for Parent and Family Engagement. Mak came to OHIO in 2013 and has since become a two-time Bobcat alumna and has served in various roles related to student engagement and leadership development. She holds a B.A. in Accounting and Business Pre-Law and an M.Ed. in Higher Education. She is currently enrolled in the master’s program for Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

At Ohio University, Mak has served as the Assistant Director for Student Organizations, Assistant Director for Student Engagement, and Interim Cutler Scholars Program Associate Director. Mak also has experience at the University of Colorado Boulder where she served as the Program Manager for Women’s and Leadership Programs in the Leeds School of Business. While there, she built a scholar program to advance women in business and STEM and oversaw the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program.

Growing up in Appalachia, Mak is deeply invested in Athens and the surrounding communities. She enjoys being involved in the local community and serves as a youth basketball coach and sits on the Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program Board of Directors. She is excited to welcome students, parents, and families into the Bobcat community.
