Ensuring Your Eligibility

Once you’ve been accepted to Ohio University, there are a few steps to complete before you’re able to sign up for BSO. You can complete all steps by logging into your applicant status portal and checking your Admitted Student Checklist.

Applicant Status Portal

How to Sign Up for BSO

Once you've confirmed you're eligible to sign up for BSO, log in to your applicant status portal using the email address you provided on your application and the password you created. Head to your Admitted Student Checklist, where you'll find a BSO checklist item. Use the link in the BSO checklist item to navigate to the sign-up form. You'll answer a few questions about yourself (and any guests you're bringing) to help us plan for your orientation experience!

Complete your Discipline and Criminal History Review Form

All first-year and transfer students must complete the Required Pre-enrollment Discipline and Criminal History Review process

Once you submit the form, it does take time to process, so wait at least 24 hours before attempting to sign up for BSO.

Confirm your Intent to Enroll

All first-year students must confirm their intent to enroll via the Housing Self-Service portal.

Not all transfer students are required to complete this step, so be sure to check your applicant status portal to see if you must complete this before you can sign up.

Sign Up for BSO!

Once the two above steps are complete, you're eligible to sign up for BSO!

Check your Admitted Student Checklist where you will see a BSO checklist Item. Use the link in the BSO checklist item to navigate to the sign-up form.

Choosing Your BSO Date

BSO Programs for students starting in Fall 2026 are listed below. The program varies based on population type, so there are different dates for incoming first-year and transfer students.

Sign-ups for Summer BSO open on February 2nd, 2026. First-year programs span a day and a half while Transfer Programs last one day. If you do not anticipate being able to attend the entire program, we encourage you to consider selecting a different date or contacting our office to discuss your situation.
