Keeping Bobcats Informed, April 10, 2024

Bobcat Families,

It was so wonderful to see so many moms and friends here for Moms Weekend. We had incredible turn out at events on campus as well as Uptown for the International Street Fair. If you attended this past weekend, please take a minute to fill out our survey so we can make every Family Weekend even better. I'll see many of you back here in just a few weeks for Commencement!

If you are looking for more ways to stay involved, we recently launched the Bobcat Family Council! We are seeking family representatives of Bobcats—whether a legal guardian or a cherished loved one—to join us as members in shaping the future for upcoming Bobcats. I hope you peek at the information below or visit the website to learn more.

As we approach the end of the semester, remind your students of the resources the Academic Achievement Center offers to get ready for finals week, and review FAFSA updates and deadlines if your student is returning next year. Prepare for move out if your student lives on campus, and review ways to reduce waste for students on and off campus.

There are plenty of opportunities to unwind between study sessions and preparing for the end of the semester too. Students can express their creativity during a Painting with Bob Ross event, get involved in a community service project during Athens Beautification Month, or explore one of the many hiking trails right on campus or around the county.

I am so proud of the work our students have accomplished this year, and I am excited for them to finish the semester strong.

Kathy A Fahl, MSW
Dean of Students

Don't dump, donate!

Move out is just around the corner. Whether students live on campus or are renting in Athens, there are plenty of opportunities to donate what they might not bring home or keep for next year. Find out what you can recycle, where you can drop off donations, and what items are best to donate. Over 60,000 pounds of material was recycled or donated last year! Give back to our community and reduce waste this spring.
