We welcome you to delve into the intricate realm of Neurodiversity and explore the complexities of the Neurodivergent brain with and experienced Neurodivergent educator.
This session will discuss strategies to help their scholars thrive in a Neurotypical world.
Participants will understand the clinical differences of the Neurodivergent brain, identify symptoms of Neurodivergence and how they may affect learning, identify the strengths of the Neurodivergent learner, and create plans for using Neurodivergent learners' strengths to increase success within the classroom.
About Lyndsay Rice
Lindsay has a Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Science and a Master's degree in Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland. Over 11 years, she has demonstrated exceptional growth in high-poverty schools. A devoted member of ATE and NEA, she has presented for prominent organizations such as NSTA, ATE, OEA, and several large districts. She has also authored impactful blogs for Better Lessons. Her leadership shines through the completion of NEA's Teacher Leadership Institute and ATE's Leadership Program. Lindsay served as an observer at the National Education Summit. Her unique perspective as a person with ADHD enriches her advocacy for neurodiversity. Her scholars consistently outperform predictions by 30 to 40 percentile points. She also crafted curriculum materials and contributed to publications on trauma-informed practices.
