Jane Johnsen Women of Vision Award

The Jane Johnsen Vision for Women Award was established in 2013 to honor a member of the Ohio University or Fairfield County communities who has made significant contributions in the advocacy and awareness of gender issues.  During her 25 years as assistant professor of Education at Ohio University Lancaster, Dr. Jane Johnsen was an advocate of diversity and gender issues, creating the Women in Technology and Science program, and challenging and mentoring students as they worked to fulfill their academic goals.

Criteria for eligible nominees includes:

  • Member of the Ohio University or Fairfield County communities; and
  • Demonstrated commitment to advocating and promoting diversity and gender issues 

A letter of nomination must be submitted for consideration. Additional supporting materials (e.g., letters of support, examples of work) may also be provided.  The Honoree will be announced at the Virtual 2021 Celebrate Women conference on Friday, March 19, 2021.

Women of Vision Award (Ohio University Zanesville)

The Ohio University Zanesville Women of Vision Award was established to recognize women who have made significant contributions to their community and provided leadership in our region.

Criteria for eligible nominees includes:

  • Demonstrated commitment to leadership in their community; and
  • Member of a community in one of the following counties: Muskingum, Guernsey, Coshocton, Licking, Morgan or Perry

A letter of nomination must be submitted for consideration. The Honoree will be announced at the Virtual 2021 Celebrate Women Brown Bag lunch on Friday, March 19, 2021.

Please submit a letter of nomination highlighting the nominee’s contributions via email by Monday, February 15, 2021 to Holly Voltz at voltz@ohio.edu

 


 

Outstanding Female Student Leaders

Nominations are being accepted for our Outstanding Female Student Leaders award. This year, the award is open to any female-identifying student on any of our regional campuses.

Criteria for eligible nominees includes:

  • Student must attend a regional campus of Ohio University
  • 3.0 GPA or higher

OHIO Eastern Women of Vision Award

The Ohio University Eastern Women of Vision Award was established to recognize women who have made significant contributions to their community and provided leadership in our region.

Criteria for eligible nominees include:

  • Demonstrated commitment to leadership in their community; and
  • Member of a community in one of the following counties: Belmont, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe

A letter of nomination must be submitted for consideration. The Honoree will be announced at the Virtual 2021 Celebrate Women Brown Bag lunch on Friday, March 19, 2021.

OHIO Chillicothe Woman of Distinction Award

The Woman of Distinction Award was established to honor a member of the OHIO Chillicothe or Ross County communities who has made significant contributions in supporting, raising awareness, and /or promoting women and gender issues.

To nominate an individual, please submit a letter that addresses why the individual is deserving of the award. Additional supporting materials that highlight the qualifications of the nominee (e.g. additional letters of support, examples of activities, etc.) may also be included. Nominations should be sent to Kreig Prior at priorb@ohio.edu by no later than noon on Wednesday, February 24nd.

The Honoree will be announced at the Virtual 2021 Celebrate Women Conference on March 19, 2021.
