OII was created in 2015, bringing together Academic Technologies, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and eLearning OHIO. These departments were united to provide strengthened, integrated services as the Office of Instructional Innovation.
OII, the Office of Information Technology, and University Planning joined the Strategy and Innovation Office (SIO) in 2019. SIO was created in summer 2019 and charged by former President Nellis to lead efforts ensuring a dynamic and sustainable future for Ohio University
