Interim Chair and Visiting Professor of Photography and Integrated Media
Cassidy is driven by the everyday becoming exceptional. Her research and work focus on the vernacular and the less considered, historically significant, images and objects. She believes there is no definite reality only interpretation based off of complex systems, human nature, and one’s own personal experiences. She explores these themes through photography, moving image, performance, and mixed media. She currently teaches at Ohio University and runs photo facilities as the Emerging Artist Post-Graduate Fellow in Photography and Integrated Media. Cassidy is enthusiastic about the strengths and expansiveness of pedagogical practice for her students and herself – focusing on interdisciplinary approaches, student centered learning, and community engagement. Cassidy has exhibited her work in shows nationally and internationally.
