Additional Training Dates Available for COA and Grants Accounting


In response to participant feedback from recent COA training sessions, a split-day format for this course is being offered; This new format will split the training content into two sections. A Grants Accounting Fundamentals session has also been added.

Affordability and Efficiency Exception changed based on campus feedback


In response to recent campus feedback, the Affordability & Efficiency (A&E) Work Group approved an adjustment to the A&E Exception Process as it relates to price differences to allow departments more flexibility in the purchasing process.

New travel services provider announced


As announced at the Business Forum on Tuesday, October 9, the University is in the final stages of contract negotiation with the newly selected travel services provider, Christopherson Business Travel. Among many other benefits, Christopherson comes with higher education, group and international travel experience as well as 24 hour customer service. 

Grants Accounting Fundamentals Course Available


The Grants Accounting Fundamentals course is a new professional development opportunity that provides a more in-depth look at Grants Accounting. Topics include Grants Accounting Module and how it is used, Project-Task-Award (PTA) segment values, understanding dates, allowed cost schedules, and auto-accounting to the General Ledger.

Securian Life Offers Voluntary Coverage


In July, 2018, the University transitioned its life insurance policies to Securian Financial. All current benefits for faculty and staff remain in place.

Lynda.com now available to all OHIO employees with a public library card


Lynda.com is an online learning provider with more than 6,000 courses on a large variety of topics including Microsoft Excel, Project Management, Communication Skills, Career Development, and Management Skills.

New Contract and Insurance Matrix available


A new and improved Contract and Insurance Matrix is now available on the Finance website. The updated matrix is the result of a thorough review involving Enterprise Risk Management & Insurance, Contract Services, and Legal Affairs, and coincides with Risk Management & Insurance’s revised insurance guidelines. These guidelines align with the Inter-University Council Risk Management & Insurance Consortium (IUC-RMIC) recommendations while keeping the Level 1, 2, and 3 classifications.

New Course Available in Professional Development Pathways Program


Professional Development Pathways (PDP) provides tools, guidance, and learning opportunities for employees and supervisors who want to invest in talent development and career growth. An Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) Navigation course is a new professional development opportunity that is now available.
