Karney is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Ohio University specializing in energy and environmental policy. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014. From 2004-2007, Karney worked at ICF International in Fairfax, VA as an energy and environmental policy consultant after graduating with his B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Grinnell College (IA). During his academic career, Karney has published in numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals including Energy Economics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and Journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economics.
