Biography
Captain Robert Nguyen is a native of Skien, Norway and was commissioned through the ROTC program at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in 2018 as an Infantry Officer.
His civilian and military education includes: a bachelor’s degree in psychology (TAMUCC, 2018), Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Ranger Training and Assessment Course, and Stryker Leaders Course.
Captain Nguyen’s assignments include Rifle Platoon Leader, A CO, 4-23rd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA; Assistant Operations Officer and Operations Officer, 5-20th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA; Company Commander, C Co, 5-20th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA; Assistant Professor of Military Science, Ohio University, Athens, OH
His awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Certificate of Achievement, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman Badge, and Parachutist Badge. His foreign decorations include the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge – Gold.
CPT Nguyen and his wife Avery have one child, Leilani.
