Misty D. Cole

Misty Cole, MSW, LSW, is an accomplished leader in behavioral health, trauma-informed systems, workforce development, and population health initiatives, with nearly three decades of experience driving systems transformation and improving outcomes for children, families, and communities throughout Ohio.

As Director of Operations and Curriculum, Misty provides strategic leadership for the Rural Health Transformation Program's Rural Health Workforce Pipeline: Pathways Upskilling and Retention Grant, advancing innovative workforce solutions that strengthen healthcare capacity in rural communities. She also oversees key initiatives for the Ohio Alliance for Population Health, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and population health goals.

In addition, Misty directs statewide professional development efforts for community health workers and social workers, fostering high-quality training, interdisciplinary collaboration, and workforce excellence. Her leadership has been instrumental in building sustainable pathways for professional growth and strengthening cross-sector partnerships that improve service delivery and community impact.

Prior to her current role, Misty served as a Mental Health Administrator and Program Manager with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, where she led statewide behavioral health and cross-systems integration initiatives in partnership with multiple agencies and stakeholders. Her work focused on enhancing collaboration across systems, improving service coordination, and advancing policies that support individuals, families, and communities.

A highly sought-after trainer, facilitator, and keynote speaker, Misty is certified in and delivers multiple evidence-based models. She has presented at numerous state and national conferences on topics including trauma-informed care, resilience, leadership development, workforce engagement, and family-centered practices.

Misty earned her Master of Social Work from Boise State University and holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Early Childhood Education. Her work is grounded in collaboration, equity, and innovation, with a steadfast commitment to strengthening communities and expanding opportunities, particularly across Ohio's rural and Appalachian regions.
