Meranda Chesser
Biography
I’m an Ohio University alumna with a strong background in operations, financial management, and creative engagement. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve built a career that blends attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
I’m especially passionate about working with students and helping them grow into confident professionals. I enjoy mentoring, building training programs, and creating opportunities that connect people with their goals. In my current role at Ohio University, I bring together my technical skills, creativity, and commitment to service to support both students and the broader community. I love being part of Athens and am driven by the chance to build lasting relationships and make a positive impact through connection and collaboration.
In my current role, I certify enrollments for veteran and military-dependent students using VA education benefits, ensuring that all certified coursework applies toward their approved degree program. I advise students on benefit eligibility and utilization, maintain compliance with VA regulations, and coordinate enrollment reporting and certification activities with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
When I am not at work, I enjoy working in my Native Pollinator Gardens and spending time with family and friends.
