Biography
Dr. Madelyn J. Hill is an Assistant Professor of Instruction, whose teaching areas include public and community health, epidemiology, social and behavioral theory, and health policy. She holds a PhD in Health Education; an MPH with a concentration in Health Promotion and Education; a certificate in Epidemiology; and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Prior to academia, Dr. Hill worked as a Health Promotion Specialist conducting biometric screenings and delivering community health education, as well as a Clinical Research Coordinator supporting pediatric clinical research. Her research employs quantitative methods to examine health behaviors, such as social media use and substance use among adolescents and young adults. Dr. Hill has published in the Journal of American College Health, Sleep Health, and Preventive Medicine, and has presented her work nationally and internationally. Her professional experiences enrich her teaching by emphasizing the application of public health theory to real world practice.
