Biography
Dr. Vensil is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation (LISW-S) and nearly two decades of professional experience spanning behavioral health, clinical practice, and community-based services. She has been recognized for her student-centered approach and dedication to preparing ethical, competent practitioners for work in high-need and underserved communities.
A hallmark of Dr. Vensil’s teaching is her deep investment in student success. She fosters a learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their values, challenge assumptions, and build confidence as future social workers. Her courses incorporate reflective practice and culturally responsive pedagogy, with a focus on social justice, rural health equity, and the professional development of students. Dr. Vensil teaches across the curriculum, including undergraduate, graduate, international study abroad & experiential learning courses.
