Biography

Jolana Hurtos is a Bobcat alum who earned a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Psychology and a certificate in Wealth and Poverty from Ohio University. During her BSW program, Jolana served as a social work intern at Serenity Grove, working with individuals struggling with addiction, until she was hired as a part-time assistant house manager for the summer of 2026. During this time, she assumed several responsibilities, including case management, peer recovery support, and mediating conflicts.

Jolana is a licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio and is currently working towards earning a master's degree in Social Work at Ohio University. During her time at the Survivor Advocacy Program, she aims to offer person-centered, trauma-informed care in a confidential, relaxing, and safe setting.

As an advocate, Jolana strives to empower ALL student survivors by respecting their individual needs, listening to their experiences, and providing support as they navigate their own paths forward. Outside of work, you can find Jolana hiking, hanging out with her friends and family, or playing video games.
