Biography

Jingyi is accepting graduate students for the 2027-2028 academic year.

I am an Assistant Professor of Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Ohio University. My research focuses on how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and machine learning, can improve the way organizations understand and assess people. My work examines AI- and language-based assessment of individual differences, including vocational interests and personality, with particular attention to validity, fairness, and the ways these new approaches compare with traditional self-report measures.

More broadly, I am interested in developing assessment methods that are not only scientifically rigorous but also engaging and useful in real-world settings. My current research explores large language models, natural language processing, and conversational assessments, as well as topics related to applicant behavior and human–AI assessment.

Outside the classroom and research lab, Jingyi enjoys exploring new places, trying new foods, snowboarding, and spending time with her family, friends, and cat.
