Jen Johnson

I’ve lived in Athens County for nearly 15 years and Ohio University is central to its charm! I’m so happy to be a part of the OU community. My hometown is New Holland, Ohio. I love outdoor adventure including backpacking, rock climbing, paddling, road tripping and just generally being outside. I practice meditation and love seeking out personal development strategies. I used to be a pretty good trumpet player and recently started playing again. I listen to a lot of 90’s skate punk from artists like The Bouncing Souls and The Descendants. I also love alternative/classic country and honky tonk from artists like Dwight Yoakam and Nick Shoulders, and 50’s/60’s soul from the greats, like Otis Redding, Al Green and Sam Cooke.

Advice: Make a calendar with important dates at the beginning of the semester and check in with it weekly. Use your syllabi, work schedule, OU events calendar and other sources to create a calendar that gives you an idea of what your semester will look like. This will allow you manage your busy times, help you plan ahead, give you more freedom take advantage of your down time, and manage stress more effectively.
