Dr. Jeff Kuhn is an educator and technology communicator in the McClure School of Emerging Communication Technology at Ohio University. His teaching area focuses on technology-mediated instruction and he directs Ohio University’s Esports Arena - an experiential learning space dedicated to immersive media and technology. He also works with faculty to integrate sound technology practices into their curriculum. For over 15 years Jeff has delivered talks and keynote addresses about the influence of technology on education in areas such as artificial intelligence, immersive media, and the need for games literacy in educators.
Jeff served in Peace Corps Mongolia before receiving his Master’s in Linguistics and PhD in Educational Technology. His dissertation explored the problem-solving and distributed cognition of online gamers and his subsequent research has investigated human behavior in digital environments. During his PhD program Jeff worked on a variety of games and augmented reality projects including serving as producer for the U.S. Department of State’s videogame Trace Effects.
