Biography
Carol D. Schaumleffel, DNP, MSN, BSN, CNE, RN, LSN is an Associate Professor in the Ohio University School of Nursing, where she teaches in the graduate nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs. A Certified Nurse Educator and Licensed School Nurse, Dr. Schaumleffel brings more than 30 years of nursing experience in critical care, interventional radiology, school nursing, and nursing education.
Dr. Schaumleffel's teaching and scholarship focus on evidence-based practice, school nursing, nursing education, faculty development, and pediatric population health. She is committed to preparing advanced practice nurses to translate evidence into clinical practice and improve healthcare outcomes. Her work has resulted in peer-reviewed publications, funded grants, and national and state presentations on evidence-based practice, school nursing, diabetes management, and pediatric health.
Within the School of Nursing, Dr. Schaumleffel serves in several leadership roles, including Graduate Curriculum Operations Coordinator. She chairs and serves on multiple School of Nursing and College committees, mentors Doctor of Nursing Practice students, and is actively engaged in curriculum development and faculty initiatives. Beyond the university, she serves on the boards of the Ohio Association of School Nurses and Prevent Blindness Ohio, reflecting her commitment to advancing nursing education, strengthening the school nursing workforce, and improving the health of children and communities.
