Esports Collegiate League and Competitive Gaming
Teams play in a variety of competitive gaming realms, including the new Esports Collegiate League and tournaments. Teams are fielded in a growing list of more than eight game titles including Overwatch, Rocket League, Hearthstone, and League of Legends. -

A state-of-the-art esports and gaming arena and technology hub opening in Spring 2021. This space will serve as a gaming community hub and was designed specifically with opportunities in mind for visual and digital partner recognition. -

Comprised of more than 350 students, the Bobcat Esports Club is the home of social gaming and provides an immersive community for students to learn and make connections to the gaming industry. -

The exponential growth of gaming drives an increasing demand for industry talent. OHIO has responded to our students’ demand for relevant curricula. We offer several academic pathways to develop sought-after skills for the gaming industry, and more educational options are in the pipeline. Our newest Esports Certificate includes courses in:

- Introduction to Sport Management
In part, we depend on input and interactions from industry experts to support development and delivery of curriculum and provide relevant experiential learning opportunities for OHIO students. Connecting with Students
Meet the talent needs of your organization. Our alumni are leaders in the esports and the gaming industry—they include the CEOs of Esports Engine, eFuse, DGN Games, and Game Day. Other alumni work for Activision Blizzard, the Boston Uprising, Electronic Arts, Sony, and more. Ohio University offers a variety of support for employers seeking to connect with and recruit new talent ranging from job boards, career fairs, internship coordination, virtual and on-campus recruiting, and tailored corporate site or campus tours or events.
OHIO alumni in your organization can join the Esports Group within our Bobcat Network. This easy-to-use platform is an online space that houses a community of Bobcats supporting and connecting with one another around esports and gaming. Members can learn from fellow alumni and share their knowledge and experience with current OHIO students, faculty, and staff, and even serve as mentors to students interested in the esports and gaming industries.
