Bio

Dr. Rania A. Sabty is Associate Clinical Professor at Ohio University, Department of Social and Public Health. She is Coordinator of both the Environmental Health Science degree program and Workplace Health and Safety certificate. She is an environmental health scientist and educator with extensive experience across academic, governmental, private industry, and community-based settings. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She also holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences, with concentration in Industrial Hygiene, from UCLA. She is a credentialed Registered Environmental Health Specialist. Her career has focused on environmental and occupational health, environmental disparities, and workforce development, with a strong emphasis on community-engaged research and practice. She has held faculty and leadership roles at institutions such as California State University Northridge and UCLA, developed environmental health programs and curricula, taught at graduate and undergraduate levels, directed and supported accredited environmental health degree programs, and more recently led and managed federally funded, multi-university initiatives focused on worker training, emergency preparedness, and environmental health disparities. She is deeply engaged in national accreditation and professional leadership efforts within the field of environmental health science.
