OHIO Environmental Policy Research Internship in Greece

OHIO Environmental Policy Research Internship in Greece

The OHIO Environmental Policy Research Internship in Greece offers students a rigorous, research-focused opportunity to engage with some of the most pressing environmental, climate and socio-political challenges facing Europe and the Mediterranean region today. This six-week summer internship is hosted by the Theophrastus Research Institute (TheoRI), an international research institute dedicated to bridging the worlds of scientific research, policy analysis, and real-world decision-making.

Interns are based on Lesvos Island, a site of profound environmental, political, and humanitarian significance. Located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, Lesvos sits on the front lines of climate change impacts, migration dynamics, energy transitions, and environmental governance in the Mediterranean -- providing a powerful living context in which global environmental and political challenges are experienced locally and studied in real time.

Through this internship, students work closely with TheoRI researchers on expert-led projects examining the intersections of environment, climate change, energy, sustainability, peace, and security. The experience emphasizes applied research, analytical rigor, and policy relevance, preparing students for careers in research, environmental policy, international development, and related fields.

Program Dates
