The building was previously occupied by the Innovation Center, housing the offices of Business Affairs, Technology Transfer, Small Business Development, and the Small Business Innovation Research Center. For some years in the 1990s the office of the Women's Studies program were located here, too. Before that, the building was known for a time as "Morton Hall," until the current Morton Hall was constructed.
