Ohio Guaranteed Admission Program

Ohio University is proud to help open doors to higher education by participating in the state of Ohio’s Guaranteed Admission (OGA) Program. This initiative, established under Ohio Revised Code § 3345.06, ensures that students who meet specific academic criteria have the opportunity to attend Ohio’s public colleges and universities.

Program Highlights

Top 10% of Graduating Class: If you’re among the top 10% of your high school class, you qualify for guaranteed admission to any Ohio public college or university, as long as you meet that institution’s unconditional admission requirements. If you don’t meet the unconditional standard, you may still begin your journey at an OHIO regional campus.

Top 5% of Graduating Class: Students who graduate in the top 5% of their class are automatically nominated for the Governor’s Merit Scholarship and are guaranteed undergraduate admission to the main campus of any Ohio public college or university — as well as participating private institutions — when application deadlines are met.

Next Steps

  • Apply for admission to OHIO's Athens campus or an OHIO regional campus.
  • Submit all required materials by OHIO's fall 2026 application deadline.
  • Upload your Ohio Guaranteed Admission Class Rank Certification Form in your applicant status portal.
