Women's Issues Leadership Award
This award recognizes a student or student organization which has shown outstanding leadership and/or community involvement on women’s and gender issues, or has raised consciousness about those issues.
Through this award, we seek to recognize students who create a campus climate in which women and girls can be full and equal participants in higher learning or succeed in society at large, and promote issues that are related to gender equity and feminism.
All full-time students of junior and senior standing are eligible for the award. Students can be nominated, or apply themselves. All questions must be answered for nominations and self-nominations.
Recipient will be recognized at the 32nd Annual Leadership Awards Gala on April 1st, 2015 in Baker University Ballroom.
Application deadline is Friday, February 20th.

Student Support and Student Organization Support
The Women's Center offers support for both undergraduate and graduate students and student organizations. We provide research resources through our library, the occasional stipend to support research and travel, and many activities throughout the year for anyone interested. Students who apply for support should expect to present on their research and/or travel the following semester. Thus, only students who will be returning the following semester will be considered. It is also our policy to only fund students once. Deadline for applications are September 15 and February 15. For more information, please email Susanne Dietzel at email@example.com.
The Women's Center is also a member of the National Women's Studies Association and receives three complimentary student memberships each year. Students interested in utilizing these memberships should visit the center for appropriate paperwork.
The Women's Center collaborates with many community groups in the Athens area. Please see our Useful Links page for these agencies.
The Women's Center also collaborates with community organizations through programming, resources, and logistical support. Please contact our Program Coordinator, Sarah Jenkins, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in reserving the Center, discussing a program, and/or pooling resources.
