Welcome Prospective Graduate Assistantship Applicants
Dear Prospective College Student Personnel Graduate Student:
Established in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio. We are delighted that you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree at Ohio University and interested in gaining useful professional training through our graduate assistantship program within the Division of Student Affairs.
Assistantships are on-campus positions that are designed to supplement your classroom experience with practical experience. The Division of Student Affairs offers many assistantship opportunities and given the partnership with the College of Education, only considers those students applying for admission to the College Student Personnel Program. To be considered for an assistantship, you must complete your academic application and graduate assistantship application by January 15, 2009.
Stipend amounts in the Division of Student Affairs are allocated through individual departments, and the College of Education provides your tuition waiver. (Please note that stipend amounts vary for graduate assistantship positions outside of the Division of Student Affairs.)
Again we are pleased that you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree from Ohio University. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Chad Barnhardt, at barnhard@ohio.edu or 740-593-4032.
If you have questions about the College Student Personnel program, you may contact Dr. Peter Mather, Assistant Professor of Counseling and Higher Education, at matherp@ohio.edu or 740-593-4454.
