Dear Prospective College Student Personnel Graduate Student:
Established in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio. We are delighted that you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree at Ohio University and interested in gaining useful professional training through our graduate assistantship program within the Division of Student Affairs.
Assistantships are on-campus positions that are designed to supplement your classroom experience with practical experience. The Division of Student Affairs offers many assistantship opportunities, and, given the partnership with The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education and Human Services, first consideration goes to those students applying for admission to the College Student Personnel program.
Stipend amounts in the Division of Student Affairs are allocated through individual departments, and The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education and Human Services provides your tuition waiver. (Please note that stipend amounts vary for graduate assistantship positions outside of the Division of Student Affairs.)
Again we are pleased that you are interested in pursuing a graduate degree from Ohio University. If you have any questions about the Graduate Assistant application process, please contact Chad Barnhardt, at barnhard@ohio.edu or 740-593-4032.
If you have questions about the College Student Personnel program, you may contact Dr. David Horton, Associate Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs, at hortond@ohio.edu or 740-597-1862.
