Checklist For New Students for Winter Quarter 2011-12
Sign up for immigration check-ins
Please sign up for available time slot for your immigration check-ins using this link: http://bit.ly/Winter2012Check-In Please bring all required documents during the check-ins. If you have brought your family with you, you are required to: (1) bring all their documents (passport, I-20 or DS-2019, I-94); and (2) purchase Ohio University health insurance for them.

Activate your OHIO ID
You will need to activate your account by going online to activate your OHIO ID. Your OHIO ID is the “name” you use when logging into your University e-mail account. It’s the key to an ever-expanding set of on-line services at Ohio University from free softwares to on-line course materials and grades. To activate your OHIO ID go to : http://myid.admsrv.ohio.edu/myid/index.cfm. You‘ll need to have your PID number ready ( It can be located in your admission letter or you can contact the Admissions Office at 740.593.4100 or at admissions@ohio.edu)

Apply for your university housing contract
Do your university housing contract online at http://www.ohio.edu/housing/busops/international.cfm First, read the information about the housing requirement, then click on the “APPLY ONLINE” link on the left in the green box. You will need your student ID and password in order to complete the contract.

Find out means of transportation available from the Airport to the University
Make a reservation for the airport shuttle (December 26 – 28, 2011, from 6-11 pm) at: http://www.ohio.edu/transportation Questions? Email transportation@ohio.edu
Or you can also find out alternative means of transportations in the handbook.

Find a place to stay
You can always stay at the temporary housing, by making a reservation for temporary housing beginning November 1: (temporary housing dates: November 22 to January 1) at: http://www.ohio.edu/housing/gi/student.cfm and go to the bottom of the page to "click here to register for housing". You will need your student ID and password in order to make a reservation. Questions? Email housing @ohio.edu”
