Incentive Award Program

The Ohio University Incentive Award is a financial award available to disproportionately represented  students and is based on academic merit.

Vision and Purpose

The Incentive Award Program provides valuable educational opportunities designed to enrich the intellectual experiences of from disproportionately represented  populations. The program promotes personal, social, cultural, and academic excellence, as well as professional development. This vision is achieved through creative programs, scholarship and character education.

Objectives

  • Provide support services that lead to students' academic success.
  • Create opportunities for leadership and student engagement.
  • Assist students with career exploration.
  • Encourage participation in campus and community service organizations.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Incentive Award, students must be admitted to Ohio University and have demonstrated academic success in high school. Those who qualify will be notified by the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships and the Office for Multicultural Students Access and Retention (OMSAR). Program activities include:

LINKS summer program.

  • LINKS prematriculation program.
  • LINKS workshops, seminars, and classes.
  • Conferences with program director.
  • Six hours of study tables per week.
  • Weekly meetings with a peer mentor.
  • Midterm evaluations.
