Voinovich School announces Fall Open House

September 21, 2017

Explore the Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Environmental Studies programs at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs Fall Open House on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. in Building 21 at The Ridges.

Current students, graduates and program faculty will be available for informal discussions on what to expect as an MPA or Environmental Studies student.

The Ohio University Master of Public Administration program is an interdisciplinary two-year program, providing graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to address difficult social problems, meet complex challenges and enhance public value.

The Master of Science in Environmental Studies program focuses on sustainability education. The program prepares future environmental leaders, advances sustainability literacy, collaborates in teaching and research with multi-disciplinary faculty, and works in partnership across the community, state, region, country and world.

The schedule for the open house will be as follows:

  • 1:30 – 2 p.m.
    • Learn about the multidisciplinary Voinovich School, where public policy, environmental studies and entrepreneurship come together.
  • 2 – 3 p.m.
    • Speak with faculty, staff, students and alumni from a program of interest about diverse research projects and the School’s learning-by-doing approach.
  • 3 – 4 p.m.
    • Learn from faculty and current students about the Voinovich School’s applied learning projects, with several activities available for different areas of interest.
  • 4:30 p.m.
    • Optional happy hour at West End Ciderhouse for networking in an informal setting.

Prospective students may also arrive at The Ridges early for pizza and a panel from 12 – 1 p.m. in Building 22, room 21. The panel will feature environmental studies and MPA students and will provide an opportunity to learn about student research projects in a relaxed and informal environment.
