OUPD Complaint or Compliment Form

Please use this form to either submit a complaint or to compliment an Ohio University Police Department employee. We are very proud of the work we do, and if you have had exceptional service from one of our employees, we want to know. Conversely, if you think we’ve fallen short in our mission, we also want to hear that feedback.

The Ohio University Police Department is dedicated to maintaining the public’s trust. Allegations of misconduct are taken very seriously and investigated thoroughly. When filing a complaint, please explain the circumstances of the incident and the reasons you believe the employee(s) acted inappropriately. Please note that this process will not replace the criminal justice process regarding the lawfulness of an arrest or citation or a party’s guilt or innocence.

As stated in Ohio Revised Code 2921.15, Making false allegations of peace officer misconduct: No person shall knowingly file a complaint against a peace officer that alleges that the peace officer engaged in misconduct in the performance of the officer’s duties if the person knows that the allegation is false. Whoever violates this section is guilty of making a false allegation of peace officer misconduct, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
