Online @ OHIO Symposium
OHIO Online is excited to host the second annual Online @ OHIO Symposium on Friday October 2 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Connect in-person with your peers across Ohio University while OHIO Online walks you through the state of online education both at OHIO and across the market, insights about the modern online learner, and curated programing that supports your role in the online experience.
New for 2026, OHIO Online is offering multiple attendance options and two afternoon tracks dedicated to instructional and administrative professionals. Choose how you will spend your day, even if it is just for a lunch time connection with your colleagues.
Can’t join us in person? Our session on the Voice of the Online Learner, presented by Risepoint, will be hosted virtually.

| Adult Learners and Adult Education Roundtable | Best Practices in Email Communication Higher education professionals face unique challenges when emailing students, who often ignore long, dense blocks of text in favor of quick mobile notifications. This session addresses how to cut through the digital noise by writing student-centric emails that boost response rates and drive student action. 30-minute facilitated roundtable; tables rotate after 30 minutes. | |
| Adult Learners and Adult Education Roundtable | What Types of Engagement Work Best for Adult Learning? The majority of students enrolled in OHIO Online programs are ages 26–45.
