The Graduate Diabetes Certificate helps students gain a better understanding of the complexities of diabetes. Through core courses, students learn more about the underlying genetics and physiology of diabetes, relevant issues related to medical and self-management and prevention practices, and trends and discoveries in diabetes research. All students complete a capstone course, which encourages independent learning and exploration with a hands-on, diabetes-related experience in a research, clinical, or service-learning setting.

The Diabetes Certificate is a 9-credit hour program that provides a unique opportunity for graduate students to learn about diabetes from a multidisciplinary perspective. The certificate includes a set of three core courses: Diabetes: From Bench to Bedside, Trends in Diabetes, and an independent study course. Through this certificate, students gain invaluable experience through service learning, clinical or research experiences.
