CATS Late Night offers modified service hours during holiday and winter break closures
Ohio University’s popular fixed route and on-demand transportation offerings CATS and CATS Late Night, which are free for students, faculty and staff, will have modified service hours during the upcoming holiday and winter break closure periods.
CATS: Daily Campus Shuttle Service provides dedicated transit routes across campus. Standard service hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. during fall and spring semesters. CATS will operate in an on-demand fashion over winter break. The service will be closed on university observed holidays and over winter closure.
CATS Late Night: Evening & Weekend Shuttle Service provides on-demand transportation to dedicated campus transit stops. Standard service hours are Monday-Friday 5:30 – 11 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 6 – 11 p.m. during fall and spring semesters.
Thanksgiving Break: CATS Late Night will not be in operation Thursday, Nov. 24 – Saturday, Nov. 26. Standard service operations will resume on Sunday, Nov. 27
Winter Break: CATS Late Night will be closed beginning Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022 – Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023. Standard service operations will resume Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023
To request CATS Late Night service, students, faculty, and staff can call or text 740-593-4040 in advance. This phone number is also located on the back of all OHIO student ID cards. CATS Late Night also accepts more immediate, on-demand requests, and Transportation Services strives to accommodate all requests in a timely fashion. It is important to note that overall transit wait times are dependent upon existing ride demand and passenger loads at time of reservation request.
Bobcat Pass
The Bobcat Pass Program, is a partnership between Ohio University and the city of Athens which enables students, faculty and staff to ride Athens Public Transit (APT) routes free of charge utilizing their University ID. Riders simply present their valid university ID to bus drivers at designated APT routes for unlimited fare travel. Transit vehicles provide accessibility accommodations.
Bobcat Pass will be closed on the following days:
Thanksgiving Break: Thursday, Nov. 24
Winter Break: Dec. 23, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2
