What is SPARK Leadership?

SPARK is a year-long program designed to help students develop valuable leadership skills for a competitive edge.

Earn Credits

Students can earn four hours of academic credit:

• 2 credits in Fall 2023
• 2 credits in Spring 2024

Requirements

Students are required to attend three (3) Friday seminars

• 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Each semester | Fall 2023 & Spring 2024

During these seminars, students will have the opportunity to network with community leaders and OHIO alumni. This is a valuable learning experience and a time to experience real world insights.

Who is eligible to apply?

Any Ohio University student is eligible to apply!

A total of 20 students will be selected for the 2023- 2024 SPARK Leadership Team.

Required Documents

Students must submit the following to be considered:

• A current resume
• The name and email address for one reference
• A brief statement explaining goals for program participation

Please enroll into the program using the “Apply Now” button at the top of the page. If you are selected for the SPARK Leadership Team, you will receive and email with information on how to enroll for 2 hours of COMS 2900 (Special Topics: Leadership) for Fall 2023.

Cost

If you are a full-time student enrolled for 12-18 credit hours for the Fall 2023 semester, there is NO additional cost to participate. 

Students selected for SPARK will also enroll for 2 additional credit hours in Spring 2024.
