Appendix 1: Laboratory Chemical Inventory

  • Include an excel sheet called "ChemInventory" listing all chemicals and quantities stored in your lab.

Appendix 3: Recommended Labeling for Portable Containers

Portable Containers should be labeled with:

  1. An idenifying name that provides enough information to look-up a material safety data sheet. This typically includes a manufacturer and a product name.
  2. The date the chemical is put into the portable container.
  3. The name of the employee, department or shop that is responsible for the portable container.

If possible, also include:

  1. Basic hazard information. For example: flammable, toxic or irritating.
  2. Personal protective equipment requirements. For example: Wear nitrile gloves and splash goggles during use.
