Facilities Site Improvements: Phase 3, June 13- July 12

The office of Architecture, Design and Construction has scheduled construction of the Facilities Site Improvements Road/Sidewalk Project from Monday, April 8, 2019 through Friday, July 12, 2019. During this period, there will be multiple phases of construction with associated roadway closures on Riverside Drive and Factory Street. A separate notification will be sent for each phase.

Update 6/12/19:

Phase 2 work has been extended causing the delay of Phase 3. Additional notifications will be communicated once a start date for Phase 3 has been confirmed. Parking spaces and roadways will remain open until further notification of closure dates and times.

Original Notice 6/11/19:

Phase 3, which is dependent on completion of Phase 2* work currently being completed on Riverside Drive, is scheduled to begin Thursday, June 13, 2019 and conclude on Friday, July 12, 2019. This phase of the project will involve closure of Factory Street at the intersection of Riverside Drive, highlighted in red below and impact the following parking areas:

*Phase 2 completion is weather dependent and may be extended if heavy rain occurs.

• Facilities Lot 145: Temporary closure of 10 of the 70 faculty and staff parking spaces for the duration of the project.
• Facilities Service Center, Factory Street Entrance: Temporary closure of 13 parking spaces for the duration of project.

During this closure detour signs will be in place to direct travel and alert motorist of roadway impacts. Traffic will be maintained with a detour from South Shafter Street to access Riverside Drive, the Transportation & Parking Services office, and the OU Fueling station.

Traffic will be maintained with a detour from West Union Street to access the Northern portion of Factory Street not impacted by the road closure.

Parking and Transportation Options

To support faculty/staff and state vehicle parking needs during this period, Transportation & Parking Services (TPS) will have the following accommodations in place:

On-Demand Transportation: Door-to-door transportation can be requested from parking lots to campus facilities 7 AM – 5:30 PM. Rides can be requested by contacting the TPS Customer Care Center at 740-593-1917 or texting 740-593-4040.
