Luis Miguel was born in Manizales, a small city in the coffee growing region of Colombia, in the heart of the Andes Mountains. He earned his M.A. in Philosophy from Universidad de Caldas and a B.A. in Communication and Journalism from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (both in Colombia). His broad area of interest is in public deliberation, public opinion, political communication, and post-truth. Recently, he has been working on political discourse analysis and populism. Luis Miguel likes sports and outdoor activities. He plays soccer, swims, bikes and is passionate about fly fishing. His next challenge is a Mountain Marathon in Manizales, Colombia, in the last weekend of June.
