Clinical Requirements: When to Request, What you Need to Know & How to Enroll

RN to BSN Clinical Courses

The registration instructions and clinical requirements are different for all clinical courses. Each clinical course has it's own different set of deadlines that must be met to be enrolled. Please see the deadlines and course specific registration instructions and clinical requirements.

Enrollment Steps:

STEP 1: Request Permission for the Clinical Course.

  • Email to advisor must include your name, PID# (found by your name on your DARS report), your OHIO ID (your Catmail ex: ab123456), the course number (Example: NRSE 4600, 4585, 4595), and the start date for the section that you prefer.

STEP 2: Your advisor will request to have you added to the Pre-Clinical Course.

  • Once you have been added to the Pre-Clinical Canvas Course, you will receive an invitation to join the class via email.

STEP 3: Access the Pre-Clinical Canvas Course and complete requirements in the course.

  • There will be instructions on the Home Page of the Canvas Course. You must submit all required documentation prior to the deadlines posted. If you do not, you will be removed from the course and will be required to take the course later. NO EXCEPTIONS.

STEP 4: Once your Preceptor Agreement is APPROVED and Affiliation Agreement/Onboarding is COMPLETED (if required) you will be given permission to enroll. You MUST finalize your registration by the registration deadline.

  • Students will receive an email stating they have been given permission to enroll in their course and need to confirm and finalize their registration through their student center.
  • Students must finalize their registration by the registration deadline, which is 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, seven days before the class begins. *See upcoming dates and deadlines.

NRSE 4600 

NRSE 4600 is the Clinical Course required of students on the old curriculum. This is a 7-week course. Students should review all NRSE 4600 Clinical Requirements and Onboarding Information.

NRSE 4585 and NRSE 4595 

Students admitted after Summer 24-25 are on the new curriculum and required to take 4575, 4585 and 4595 in order. The new curriculum clinical courses are 5-week course. Students should review all NRSE 4600 Clinical Requirements and Onboarding Information.
