Weld House was built in 1969 and used as a residence hall for students. It was originally known as South Green building number 7.
Cynthia U. Weld
Weld House was named in honor of Cynthia U. Weld. A native of Ridgeway, NY, she was educated at Yates Academy and Elmira Female College. She was a Professor of English Literature, Rhetoric, and History at Ohio University before going to Ohio State University to teach.
