Desirae Harvey is from Brooklyn, OH, a suburb of Cleveland. Being near a city with so much art and architecture inspired an artistic side in Desirae at a young age. Going through high school, she knew she would fall into the art world somewhere. When she visited Ohio University and the Interior Architecture program, she fell in love. The past few years she has developed herself and her creative side.

Desirae’s goal with her thesis is to give families below the median income average a better living environment. Growing up, Desirae witnessed and experienced the heaviness of families having economic struggles. She remembers especially all the amenities’ families could not afford. Remembering this feeling growing up, she designed Connect: Residences. In Connect: Residence, there is amenities that makes residents lives easier. Services that were a luxury before are now in the building. This building not only supports the residents living in it, but also the community surrounding by allowing access too.
