Guidelines and Policies Events Requiring Approval: Marches
Marches held on campus require the approval of the Campus Involvement Center and University Event Services. The purpose of approval is to insure that the march can be conducted in a manner that recognizes and supports individuals' First Amendment rights of expression, yet is safe and does not disrupt the functioning of the University. To have a march considered for approval, please contact Char Kopchick at 593-4742 or Sujit Chemburkar at 593-4020.
In addition to University property, marches may be held in the Athens community. If an organization wants to march on a city street or sidewalk, a parade permit must be obtained from the Athens Police Department at:
