The Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center is pleased to announce the offering of a new leadership opportunity available to students of all majors and disciplines – the 21st Century Leadership Series.
The program will be offered Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. beginning week 2 of Fall Quarter in the Amanda J. Cunningham Leadership Center on the third floor of Baker Center. (Full Schedule Above)
Students who complete all seven sections will receive a certificate of completion. There is no cost to attend any session of this program.
Based on the Higher Education Research Institute's Social Change Model of Leadership, the series offers 7 seminars which will help students learn the skills to succeed in today's global economy. The series includes sections on: Personal Strengths and Self-Awareness; Identifying Values and Ethics; Defining your leadership brand; Emotional Intelligence; Understanding Team Development; and two capstone seminars: Embracing Change and Confusion, and Global Citizenship and Servant Leadership.
In March of 2008 the National Association of Colleges and Employers released a study identifying leadership as the #1 quality employers are now looking for in college graduates, out-pacing other qualities and attributes such as G.P.A., and communication skills (although closely behind).
* Capstone experiences. In order to participate you must have completed all previous sections: Personality Inventory; Ethics/Values; Leadership Branding; Emotional Intelligence; and Understanding Team Development
