Ohio University students can register for the Student Research and Creative Expo 2020 on Thursday, April 9 at the Convocation Center.

For the past 15 years, hundreds of undergraduate, graduate and medical students have presented their innovative projects, in the fields of environmental studies, public administration, film making and many more, to their peers and faculty.

Undergraduate and graduate students from Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs won more than 20 awards at last year’s Student Expo, many with cash prizes.

Graduating Voinovich Undergraduate Research Scholar Katie Kemp won two awards: one for her research on the development of a concise and visually appealing flier on the Voinovich School’s Community Health, Prevention and Promotion Team and another for improving participants’ ability to estimate the amount of sugar in bottled drinks with the help of infographics during her two-year research study in the Department of Psychology.

Students interested in getting presentation tips can attend the Lunch & Learn series, 12 – 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28,  in The Ridges Building 21, Room 105. Environmental Studies faculty Sarah Davis and Voinovich School Marketing and Communications Director Laura Alloway will be on hand to help with the design and content of a professional poster. Free pizza will be provided.

This year’s expo rules have changed. Students are limited to one registration as main presenter, although they may act as co-presenter on other entries. Only students who are working on projects with different mentors may be main presenter on more than one entry. Such cases are limited to two presentations.

Registration for the Expo is capped at 850 participants. Once all spots have been filled, prospective entrants will be put on a waitlist. Show off your innovation skills by registering for the 2020 Student Expo today!
