Aleah Cumberbatch will present her work with the Community of Practice Rural Community Opioid Response Program (CoP-RCORP). Aleah has been working alongside faculty Dr. Holly Raffle to finalize a Stigma Prevention Survey and explainer video that uses the Health, Stigma and Discrimination Framework to assess stigma’s effect on individuals impacted by substance use disorder and mental health issues. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Aleah completed her BA in Psychology at Ohio University last year and is now a Master of Public Administration candidate.

Sam Smith will discuss his work as a Voinovich Undergraduate Research Scholar, particularly in his role in evaluating the Ohio START program. Sam is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Geography at Ohio University’s Honors Tutorial College.

Pao Muñoz will present about the main drivers of deforestation in Indio Maiz Biological Reserve, Nicaragua. She is a student in the Master of Science in Environmental Studies program. Pao is a Costa Rican professional female biologist from the University of Costa Rica who collaborates with NGOs and academics to stop deforestation in protected areas in Nicaragua through academic research, change of policies, and local action.
