Student Veterans Lounge

The Veterans Lounge opened in November 2022 and is located in Baker University Center, Suite 363, near the Veterans and Military Student Services Center (Baker 350). The lounge is a dedicated space for student veterans and students currently serving in the military to study, connect with peers, build community, and complete academic coursework.

The lounge includes spaces for both individual and group study, relaxing between classes, and socializing with fellow military-connected students. Students also have access to a PlayStation 5 gaming area, CAC-enabled computers, a printer, and complimentary snacks and beverages.

The lounge features a dry kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Complimentary items regularly available include coffee, water, soda, snacks, oatmeal, fruit bars, chips, crackers, and select frozen microwavable meals.

Access to the lounge is available to:

  • Veterans
  • Active duty service members
  • National Guard members
  • Reservists

Students do not need to be using VA education benefits to receive lounge access. Due to limited capacity, access is currently restricted to the above mentioned groups and is not available to spouses or dependents.

The lounge is open during normal Baker University Center hours and can be accessed using an Ohio University Student ID card. Students experiencing issues with card swipe access should contact the Veterans Center at veteranscenter@ohio.edu or visit the office in Baker 350 for assistance.
