The OWL at Purdue website offers grammar, mechanics, and punctuation rules as well as format and citation guidelines (with examples) for MLA, APA, and Chicago writing styles.
Student Writing Center
The Student Writing Center’s (SWC) peer tutors provide free writing assistance to all Ohio University students. Our tutors can help at any stage of the writing process, from discussing and organizing ideas to polishing a final draft. Tutors will not edit papers but will guide students in improving writing strategies.
The SWC will continue to provide tutoring services remotely via Microsoft Teams through the end of Fall 2021 semester. Our remote tutoring sessions are convenient and offer an effective and collaborative student-to-student experience.
You can schedule a remote appointment with a writing tutor by opening TutorTrac and selecting the appropriate course for which you need writing assistance and a day and time that fits your schedule.
Once you book an appointment, your tutor will send you an email that includes a link to your tutoring appointment, which will be a Teams meeting. Teams allows you and your tutor to talk, use chat, and share documents.
If you need assistance in scheduling an appointment, please call the AAC at 740-566-8888 or contact us through our email at email@example.com. If you have questions about the writing center, write us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Monday-Thursday: 2-8 pm
