As a new Bobcat, your next step is to register for a Bobcat Student Orientation program. The registration process includes: date selection, and parent and family registration. While participating in this program, you will learn about your academic opportunities, how to become an involved Bobcat, and register for classes.
Student orientation fees, including the student’s meals and overnight stay in a residence hall during BSO, are included in The OHIO Guarantee™. Optional: Families and guests who choose to attend orientation will be billed for program and meal fees.
Undergraduate Orientation Programs has updated our orientation policies for specific populations. Please see below for the policies and how they will affect the students in your college.
First-Year Students are eligible to register for their specific orientation session after they have successfully completed their housing contract and paid their deposit or completed an exemption waiver.
Transfer Students are eligible to register for their orientation session once they have officially been admitted to Ohio University. In June and August (for Fall Semester Entry), transfer student-specific sessions are offered. Transfer students must attend one of these sessions. In January and May (for Spring or Summer Semester Entry), transfer students share orientation sessions with their first-year peers.

Ohio University benefit eligible employees are welcome to attend part or all of orientation, but are not required to attend orientation. However, employees are required to meet with an advisor from their colleges. Students should contact their contact college offices to schedule individual advising appointments.
