Research Focus: Rhetoric & Culture

Rana Batool completed her Bachelors from the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir with majors in English language and literature and economics. She then went on to complete her Masters with research from the Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi with majors Literature and Linguistics. During her Masters, Rana’s research was a comparative analysis of Rumi and Omar Khayyam Rubayat. Additionally, she completed her MPhil in Linguistics from the University of Azad Jammu and Kasmir where her research work was based on metaphors and how dominant groups of society manipulate their ideologies by using metaphorical language. Rana selected this program to go further in rhetoric and social discourse. Her research aims are how metaphors shape the world-views as well as how they control the minds of people.
